Stupid, stupid macs!

In an article at TheStreet.com, senior columnist Marc Lichtenfeld writes that
Like fans of the old-time Brooklyn Dodgers, Adobe customers will likely have to wait until next year for its new Creative Suite. One of the key issues is that Photoshop and other applications run 50% slower on the new Intel-based Macs. An optimized version of Photoshop is not expected until early 2007 and Adobe will hold off releasing its new Creative Suite until those problems are solved.

It's funny. I switched from Macs to PCs back in 2000 after about a decade of devotion to the Mac platform, specifically because I was tired of my inability to get new version of my Mac programs at the same time PC users were getting their new versions. Mac software releases always seemed to be lagging 6-months to a year behind in their PC counterparts. There was also the whole "stability" thing with OS7 through OS9. Now it seems that Mac programming issues have once again delayed an Adobe release, but this time Adobe has opted to delay the PC version until the Mac version can be ready. Leave it to Apple and Adobe to find a way to retard everyones upgrade schedule because of a Mac-specific problem. As Stephen Colbert might say, "Adobe, you're on notice for delaying the PC release of your creative suite just to help cover the ass of a whiny elitist computer company in the midst of yet another identity crisis. And Apple...you're dead to me."
